Jen & Ken’s Dove Canyon Courtyard Wedding

A Hidden Gem, A Clear Vision, and a Joyful Flip

Jen and Ken’s wedding was a beautiful example of how thoughtful planning and personal touches can transform an unexpected space into something extraordinary. Set at Dove Canyon Courtyard, a tucked-away venue full of rustic character, this wedding combined rustic flair with elegant florals, a deeply personal ceremony, and a seamless flip from ceremony to reception—all while embracing a full DIY spirit.

I was brought on one month before the big day to help bring it all together, and working with Jen (who is wonderfully organized!) and Ken was a true pleasure. From their fully labeled table numbers to the custom cake toppers of their dogs, every detail was meaningful—and my job was to ensure it all ran effortlessly from start to finish.

What I Did

As their month-of coordinator, my role was to take all the moving parts and give them structure, flow, and calm energy. Here’s what that looked like:

• Timeline Creation: I built a custom, minute-by-minute timeline to align all vendors and wedding party members.
• Vendor Coordination: Reviewed contracts, confirmed logistics, and handled final communications with every vendor.
• Site Visits: Visited Dove Canyon Courtyard multiple times to assess layout, walk-throughs, and the venue flip plan.
• Rehearsal Direction: Led a fun and focused rehearsal, offering guidance to their officiant on how to center the couple and engage the audience—especially during their heartfelt ring-warming ceremony.
• Setup & Execution: Alongside my assistants, I helped design and install key elements of the ceremony and reception, walking over 18,000 steps that day to make sure everything felt right.
• Problem-Solving: Quietly handled last-minute questions and changes so the couple never felt the stress.
• Cleanup & Delivery: After the party, we ensured every one of their labeled bins and personal items made it home safely.
  

One special contribution? I shared my Alcohol Budget Calculator—a custom planning tool I created—to help them take full advantage of the venue’s BYO alcohol policy without the guesswork or overbuying.
